Extended scheme PMGKY
One big decision was taken of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) for Ujjwala beneficiaries by three months.
New Delhi: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar, on Wednesday, said the Cabinet approved a number of measures in view of the ongoing Covid-19.
One big decision was taken by the Cabinet was the extension of the time limit for availing the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) for Ujjwala beneficiaries by three months.
Under the PMGKY-Ujjwala, the government decided to provide free of cost refills for PMUY consumers for a period of 3 months from April 1.
"There are 7.40 crore Ujjwala beneficiaries currently and the government had promised to give them three cylinders under the PMGKY-Ujjwala scheme who will benefit further from the extended scheme.
