Guru Purnima: As per the Hindu calendar, Guru Purnima is observed on a full moon day in the month of Ashadha. It is also known as Vyasa Purnima. Since ancient times, it is a tradition to honour gurus for passing on their wisdom and enlightening them. The day is dedicated to the academic and spiritual teachers who evolved our lives and also show the correct path.

On this day people take bath in the early morning, pay respect and worship their Gurus. They also offer fruits and sweets to them, chant mantras, etc. In some temples, special puja is organised.
