Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Grameen

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is a scheme of the Government of India through which poor people living in cities will be provided houses to suit their purchasing power. The government has identified 305 cities and towns in 6 states in which these houses will be built. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Grameen Yojana is a rural-run scheme. The scheme was launched on 25 June 2015. The scheme aims to provide homes to all by 2022. For this, the government will construct 20 lakh houses, out of which 18 lakh houses will be constructed in slum areas and the remaining 2 lakh cities in poor areas. 

Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Grameen scheme or Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme, the beneficiaries will be offered financial assistance for building their own houses. This is a scheme that has been developed to provide monetary support to underprivileged families in India to build houses. The scheme was previously launched in the year 2016-17 in three districts Lawngtlai, Serchhip, and Saiha. The financial assistance will be handed over to the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA). Thereafter they will hand over these benefits to the beneficiaries. The nodal agency for the Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme is the rural development department of the state government. The scheme is only applicable to economically backward families in various Indian rural areas.

Benefits of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Grameen: The scheme will work towards providing houses for the underprivileged families who are living in rural areas of India, They will be offered financial assistance of Rs. 50,000/- each
