Sri Chennakesava Swamy Vari temple is located in the Thallapaka village, Rajampeta Mandal, Kadapa District, about 110 km from Tirupati. The Archa Murthy of Sri Chennakesava Swamy with Sridevi and Bhudevi on the left and right side of his chest respectively was consecrated in the Sanctum Sanctorum of the temple. This temple was constructed some 1200 years ago.

The Archa Murthy was installed facing North. Lord Garuda is present in the opposite side facing Lord Sri Chennakesava Swamy. Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy was consecrated as the Kshetrapalaka of this temple. Dwajasthambham was installed on the top of the temple gopuram. The idols were consecrated on the day of Ashadha Suddha Ekadasi, since then every year the Annual Brahmotsavams are performed from Ashadha Suddha Ekadasi to Bahula Chaviti.

“Chennakesava” means the Lord with beautiful hairs. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has taken over this temple on 14th March of 1991, and from then daily Dhupa Deepa Naivedyams and Annual Brahmotsavams are performed as per the tenets of Pancharatra Agama.
